Safe Site Check In Delivers Rapid, Private COVID-19 Health Screenings, Contact Tracing Reports for Compliance with State Mandates

Over 300 companies use app to reopen, alert employees to potential risk of COVID-19 exposure without compromising smartphone data or personal health information

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – December 21, 2020 – To support state mandates and safety guidelines that require reporting of COVID-19 outbreaks in the workplace, Safe Site Check In offers privacy protected health screenings and contact tracing with the ability to produce required documentation within minutes.

As each state has established its own safety protocols and guidelines, and many require documenting COVID-19 health screenings while protecting the personal health information of employees. In California, a new law goes into effect on January 1, 2021. The state’s Assembly Bill 685 (AB 685) requires California employers to notify employees of possible exposure to COVID-19 within 24 hours and to public health agencies within 48 hours.

Safe Site Check In enables employers to meet AB685 requirements within minutes should an outbreak occur in the workplace. Using Safe Site Check In, employers can quickly prepare workplaces for digital sign-ins and health screenings. A unique QR-coded sign is posted at workplace entrances and employees and visitors are directed to use their smartphone to check in via the poster. As the app appears on the employee’s or visitor’s screen, they answer COVID-19 health related questions. If an employee’s responses indicate a potential health risk, the employer is immediately notified. While employers have a digital record of everybody onsite, the app does not store personal health information. The app also allows employers to customize the questions in accordance with local requirements or human resources protocols.

“Paper-based screenings are not feasible for effective and private record keeping and contact tracing,” said David Ward, CEO, Safe Site Check In. “Paper forms have the potential for inaccuracies and are time consuming to manage.  As California joins Virginia and other states that require or encourage rapid reporting of outbreaks to employees and public health agencies, secure, digital records are the only option for keeping everybody safe.”
